We are thrilled to announce that the 2026 Mississippi SCAUG Annual Conference will be hosted on the beautiful Millsaps College campus in Jackson, Mississippi—and we would love for you to be a part of it!
As we’ve expanded, we’ve seen a clear need for more local GIS training, stronger networking opportunities, and intentional spaces for knowledge-sharing and professional development right here in Mississippi. This year’s venue helps make that possible. Millsaps provides separate classroom spaces for multiple concurrent training sessions, along with a conference room that holds over 200 attendees—all equipped with state-of-the-art technology. This setup allows us to deliver our largest, most engaging, and most accessible conference yet.

DESCRIPTION:Using ArcGIS Experience Builder to create web applications is the future of developing modern, interactive, no-code web apps. Choose a template and create an immersive web experience for your audience by unifying web apps, web pages, interactive widgets, and both 2D and 3D data through a flexible drag-and-drop interface. In this workshop, learn and work with some of the newest widgets like the Business Analyst, the Oriented Imagery widget and others.

The Geo Project - Design, build, deploy: ArcGIS Online workshop (8am-12pm)
DESCRIPTION: Discover how to create seamless, interactive GIS workflows by connecting ArcGIS technologies. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to create and collect data, visualize insights with ArcGIS apps, and design engaging web experiences through ArcGIS Online. By the end, you’ll understand how to tie these applications together to tell compelling stories and deliver impactful, data-driven results.
TARGET SKILL LEVEL: Beginner level. Those with some GIS experience could also benefit from expanding their skills in web-based GIS specifically.
SOFTWARE / REQUIREMENTS: This course requires no previous experience with GIS software or theory, making it suitable for anyone interested in learning about web-based GIS.

The Geo Project: ArcGIS PRO-gramming: Processing data with ArcGIS Notebooks (1pm-5PM)
DESCRIPTION: Programming doesn’t have to be intimidating. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll dive into ArcGIS Notebooks and explore how to use built-in shortcuts to write Python code that automates geoprocessing workflows. Whether you’re brand new to coding or just curious about how Python fits into spatial analysis, this workshop is designed to get you automating workflows with confidence. By the end of this workshop, you’ll have all the tips and tricks (and hacks!) to kickstart your PRO-gramming journey.
TARGET SKILL LEVEL: This course will begin with an overview of basic programming concepts and build knowledge and skills within the ArcGIS Notebooks framework.
Advanced programmers with existing Notebook experience may find the material too elementary, but all are welcome to join, learn, and share!
SOFTWARE / REQUIREMENTS: For the best experience, participants should be familiar with ArcGIS Pro and basic analysis tools such as Buffer and Clip.

DATAMARK Technologies - Introduction to NG9-1-1 (8AM-5PM)
DESCRIPTION: Next Generation 9-1-1 is evolving rapidly, shortening the timeframe for public safety organizations to prepare their GIS data for deployment in NG9-1-1. Accurate, reliable, and NENA-compliant GIS data is critical to pre-call NG9-1-1 functions, which utilize geospatial data in a different manner than many post-call public safety applications. In NG9-1-1, GIS data is essential for call routing and location, requiring new processes for management and introducing new data requirements and standards for effective deployment. This course introduces standards, best practices, and basic workflows to achieve NG9-1-1 GIS data readiness and bring data into compliance with NENA standards. This course is designed for GIS professionals seeking to learn about public safety, public safety professionals seeking to learn about GIS, and what NG9-1-1 means for everyone.
TARGET SKILL LEVEL: This course is ideal for anyone involved in preparing GIS data for emergency response systems. It’s especially useful for: GIS Data Managers and Editors, 911/PSAP Directors, MSAG Coordinators, Addressing and Road Naming Authorities.

Waggoner - Introduction to Cityworks: Understanding the Power of GIS in Asset Management (1pm-5PM)
Workshop Description: This 4-hour, workshop gives a simple and clear introduction to Cityworks and how it uses GIS to help cities and utilities manage their assets and daily work. You’ll learn what Cityworks is, how it works, and real examples of how Mississippi communities use it to improve operations. No software, no logins, no technical background required—just come ready to learn.
