Utilization of GIS at OKIE811

The Oklahoma One-Call System, Inc. (OKIE811) is a non-profit 501(c)6 corporation, incorporated in the State of Oklahoma in 1979. It was formed for the purpose of preventing damage to underground facilities. Effective January 1, 1982, the Oklahoma Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Act provided that (1) owners and operators of underground facilities must register, through a notification system, and (2) all excavators must give notice to such underground operators at the notification system prior to excavation.

Join us as we share about how OKIE811 works, and how GIS is utilized to provide quality damage prevention notifications to owners and operators of underground facilities.

Tracking and Traceability of Underground Assets with ArcGIS - Esri

Whether you oversee gas, water, wastewater, electric, or telecom underground assets, keeping track of what you put into the ground is important.  Recent regulatory rules under consideration by PHMSA, as well as current market drivers, are changing the gas pipeline industry in particular.  These pressures are pushing operators to gain a better understanding of which exact assets reside underground and where they were placed. New enhancements to Collector for ArcGIS have made barcode collection seamless, thereby maintaining a single source of truth.  Through use of the mobile device's camera, Arcade scripting, and the newly released Attribute Rule functionality, digital as-builting is becoming faster and easier.
