GIS Day 2009
GIS Day in Houston,Tx

This event is the largest showcase of how Geographic Information Systems are used in the City of Houston and surrounding areas. For two days, business people, educators, students, and the general public are given a free access pass to products and services that encompass GIS. Since its debut 5 years ago, this event has grown steadily, achieving a prominent position in the field of GIS with the public, private and governmental agencies. The Houston GIS Day event has received national recognition at the Annual ESRI Users Conference. In 2006, the Students Day event alone brought in over 350 students and educators from the Houston Independent School District. Prizes were awarded for school essay projects and GIS Mentorship Projects.
