This 2-day intermediate course will teach student how they can use ArcGIS Pro to edit data, create 3D maps, perform GIS analysis and automate processes using ModelBuilder and Python.


This course is intended for those new to GIS and ArcGIS Pro that wish to learn the basic skills needed to create and print simple maps. It teaches the foundational skills needed for new users. No previous experience with ArcGIS Pro or GIS is required.


The class will consist of a balance between lectures and hands-on exercises. The examples will make use of publicly available GIS resources, but students may work with their own online resources if they so wish.

  • Module 1: Creating 3D Maps
  • Module 2: Editing Spatial and Attribute Data
  • Module 3: Sharing Maps, Layouts, Projects and Processes
  • Module 4: Performing GIS Analysis using Geoprocessing Tools
  • Module 5: Standardizing Workflows with Tasks
