The City of Southlake is searching for a customer focused team player who is passionate about providing world class customer service to a world class community. The purpose of this position is to assist professional staff with special projects and provide administrative support to the daily operations of an assigned service area. This is accomplished by assisting in monitoring, reporting, researching, and evaluating projects and programs; assisting in the update and maintenance of program information files; performing unique responsibilities; and providing highly responsible technical administrative support to the GIS Analyst and the Department of Planning and Development Services.  Other responsibilities include providing accurate information to other city departments and the general public.

 

Compensation: $13.14 an hour

Essential Functions:

Demonstrates technical excellence and ensures implementation of program goals in conformance with established strategies and organizational expectations.

Special Project Assignments: Assist professional staff with special projects and administrative duties by completing a variety of functions related to an assigned area of responsibility; monitoring, reporting, researching, and evaluating projects and programs; and assisting in the update maintenance of programs as assigned.
Information Analysis and Reporting: Collect, compile, analyze and research information from various sources on a variety of topics related to assigned programs; prepare reports which present and interpret data and identify alternatives; provide support as needed for completion of special projects in support of assigned department.
Customer Service: Provide general customer service to employees and the public by greeting customers, answering the telephone, responding to questions and assisting the general public; greeting and announcing visitors as necessary; providing information on departmental and city policies and procedures; and transferring and directing inquiries to the appropriate individual or department.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Formal Education:  Must be currently enrolled in a GIS program of study or have completed course work in GIS.
Experience:  GIS work experience required if do not meet formal education requirements.
Supervision:  Job has no responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.
Technical Skills:  Basic – Work requires the use of standard technical skills appropriate to the work environment of the organization.
Certificates & Other Requirements:  Must be enrolled in bachelors or masters degree program or recently received a degree.
