HERE is seeking a Data Acquisition Specialist to join the Data Acquisition team . The candidate will be expected to conduct geospatial data research and acquisition activities for defined area/territory, provide back end support to the greater Data Acquisition team, conduct market research to identify potential geospatial data suppliers, and coordinate basic marketing support, administration and communication related to the Data Acquisition team. 


  • Researches and pursues suppliers of geospatial data in both the government and commercial sectors, in an effort to acquire map data; arranges meetings, presentations and follows up with suppliers
  • Executes all required contracts and purchase orders and obtains datasets
  • Supports the Data Acquisition team on their non-sourcing tasks: Tracking, data entry, follow-up and administration related to the supplier management systems
  • Updates and maintains all territory-specific supplier information into customer relationship management (CRM) system; provides reports as needed 
  • Monitors information and communication stream from and to the Data Acquisition team
  • Coordinates with Planning and Product Management teams with regard to ingestion of acquired data in order to build or enhance HERE's offerings
  • Coordinates email, mailing and marketing campaigns to approach possible suppliers if needed; utilize SWOT analysis to compare suppliers



  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience 
  • Experience using CRM systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and in local language in assigned territory (if applicable)
  • Basic knowledge of maps, geospatial content and location-based products and services
  • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) and related content
  • Results-oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data , problem solve, prioritize and organize to achieve stated goals
  • Microsoft Office
  • Travel requirement up to 25%  


  • Office-based job setting; independent work while contributing to overall team objectives and goals
  • Needs to gain a thorough understanding of HERE's products and business needs around acquiring geospatial datasets
  • Semi routine tasks of moderate complexity requiring some discretion and judgment. Carries out tasks/activities according to assignment and set guidelines. Moderate degree of supervision and coaching needed.
  • Individual contributor but will work closely and leverage the broader Data acquisition teams as well as other teams (Strategic Licensing, Legal, Product Marketing, Planning, Local Map Operations in support of various activities such as source evaluation, contract finalization...)
  • Ownership of specific geographic territory and related pieces of work; deliverables used as input into larger deliverables, goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the greater Data Acquisition team.
