Description: ArcGIS Online is a content management system for geographic information, enabling you to share your content and to power many types of GIS-based applications. Getting started with best practices will help you get the most out of your ArcGIS Online subscription. During this session we will look at different user roles, adding new roles, site setup and administration, registering your content, creating hosted services, data storage, creating and sharing data and maps, creating and managing groups, collaboration with maps both inside and outside your organization, create web mapping applications and embedding maps into web sites. This is a fast paced, hands on workshop. Bring a zipped up shapefile, a csv file and know your rest url, so you can use your own data for the class. Feel free to bring your own laptop. We request that you activate and know your login to your ArcGIS Online Organization. It would also be helpful if you are familiar with ArcGIS online, rest services and data sharing.
